Sacyr is awarded the construction and concession of the Rome – Latina freeway (Italy) with an income portfolio of 12,250 million euros

Autostrade del Lazio has awarded the construction and concession of the Rome – Latina freeway in Italy, 186 kilometers long (100 km of freeway and 86 km of secondary roads), to Sacyr’s Italian subsidiary, SIS, with envisaged investment of 2,800 million euros and a concession period of 43 years.

This project means Sacyr Concesiones consolidates its position in Italy, where, through its Italian subsidiary, SIS, it has already been involved in building the Pedemontana-Veneta freeway, 145 kilometers long, with total investment of 2,500 million euros.

The Rome-Latina freeway is the final part of Lazio Major Bypass

The project requires the construction of 78 viaducts and overpasses, 2 tunnels, 5 cut-and-fill tunnels, 17 link roads and three central toll barriers, among other infrastructure.

The average daily intensity (ADI) once operating is envisaged at 32,000 vehicles, whilst the income portfolio throughout the lifetime of the concession will reach 12,250 million euros. Revenue from the freeway will be via direct toll, with a mechanism for restoring financial equilibrium for the franchisee through tariff reviews.
